CALM Tools for Living

CALM uses a computer interface as well as interaction with a counselor
Anxiety and mood disorders are the most common psychiatric disorders in adults. A large percentage of people have both an anxiety disorder and depression. These disorders cause significant impairment in academic, social and work functioning. A new treatment approach, the CALM Tools for Living, has been proven to be effective in decreasing anxiety and depression. This is an exciting new intervention because it incorporates a computer interface as well as interaction with a counselor.

The CALM Tools for Living helps alleviate symptoms for Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Depression. Research has proven CALM to improve anxiety and depression symptoms, functional disability, and quality of care at 18 months.+

You will be given practical, “real-world” ways to help your clients suffering from anxiety and depression. You will come away with concrete tools that will enhance your ability to help your clients: computer program, materials, and new therapeutic skills.
